In 1924, Josef Fischer founded the company in Ried, Austria, which is now the world market leader in Nordic skiing and one of the largest ski manufacturers in the world. Many famous winter athletes have been kitted out with equipment from Fischer over the years. In 2014, the year of its 90th anniversary, the company set a record: At the Sochi Winter Games, athletes equipped by Fischer won 103 out of a possible 159 medals in the Nordic disciplines.
