The MSR® Lightning models are made from a high-strength, torsion-resistant yet lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminium alloy. The 360° Traction frame, with its unique low-profile and serrations on the underside, provides an all-around firm grip, especially when traversing icy places. Narrow frames of the W-models improve agility for those with a narrow gait, and are ideal for anyone seeking a lighter snowshoe. In very loose snow or when carrying a heavy backpack, the Modular Flotation extension elements (optional) can be used to increase the surface area and create additional flotation. The exceptionally strong coated nylon fabric is particularly durable and provides a pleasant, soft footstep. The Ascent variants now feature the high-quality Paragon binding. This binding is designed for a secure fit without pressure points. Its mesh strap ensures maximum foot control without compromising on comfort.
