Whatever you want to ski - piste or off-piste - the Mantra 88 is suitable for it. The most versatile all-mountain freerider with the most modern construction offers an extremely wide range of use for experienced skiers who celebrate powerful turns in any terrain and on any piste. The Mantra 88 comes with a new geometry and a centre radius shortened by one metre in the 3D Radius Sidecut. The three different radii combined in one ski generally ensure enormously versatile cornering characteristics. The 16m radius in the centre increases the radius variability even further, which lovers of tight, full-edged, cut turns will particularly enjoy.
This ski enables a sporty, intuitive skiing style on groomed pistes and at the same time offers the necessary manoeuvrability for demanding terrain. Thanks to the shortened centre radius, less effort is also required. The Mantra 88 is also equipped with Tailored Carbon Tips and a Tailored Titanal Frame, which puts the Mantra's skiing fun at the forefront.
Tailored Technologies - exclusive to Völkl
The Tailored Titanal Frame, which is also used in the Mantra, Secret, Kendo and Kenja models, is a further development of the familiar Titanal frame. This construction makes it possible to adapt the width of the Titanal topsheet to the ski length and the resulting torsional rigidity as well as the desired damping behaviour of the skier. For shorter ski lengths, the proportion of Titanal is reduced so that shorter or lighter skiers can get the maximum out of their skis with little effort.
Thanks to the Tailored Carbon Tips, the Mantra 88 is extremely versatile. The carbon fibres applied using the Tailored Fibre Placement process (TFP) enable optimum control of the turning behaviour. The thickness and orientation of the fibres define the required power and energy build-up exactly where it is needed. The agile shovel retraction is particularly positive, allowing the ski to be skied around the turn in a controlled and easy manner right from the start of the turn. You only have to think about changing direction and it's done. In addition, this construction enables a lower weight without any loss of stability.
The Mantra 88 with Tip & Tail Rocker also uses the proven Multilayer Woodcore, surrounded by a continuous sidewall and a P-Tex 2100 base.
