If you don't want to choose between piste and powder, between moguls and groomed carving slopes, then the Völkl Secret 88 with its revised geometry is the perfect partner for every occasion. This all-mountain freerider with state-of-the-art construction is suitable for skiers who value performance but don't want to limit themselves to piste and off-piste. It owes its impressive carving performance to the three different radii of the 3D Radius Sidecut. Different areas of the ski are involved at different speeds and when moving in and out of the edges, which helps it to master different turns, terrains and forces perfectly. The tip and tail rocker makes turn initiation smoother and forgives mistakes on slopes with deep snow or scree. The centre radius is one metre shorter, allowing the ski to be steered with noticeably less effort. With the Secret 88 under your feet, you can tackle everything the mountains have to offer.
Tailored carbon tips and a Tailored Titanal Frame have been integrated into the Secret 88 to ensure perfect riding behaviour for every length from 156 to 170 cm. The Tailored Titanal Frame, which is used in many Titanal Freeride models, is a further development of the well-known Titanal frame. With this construction, the width of the Titanal upper strap can be adapted to the length of the ski, allowing the torsional rigidity and the desired damping behaviour to be tailored to the skier. For shorter skis, the proportion of Titanal is reduced so that shorter and lighter skiers can also get the most out of their skis without too much effort. The Tailored Carbon Tips make the Secret 88 particularly versatile. The carbon fibres applied using Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP) enable the engineers to influence cornering behaviour with great precision. The strength and orientation of the fibres define the force you have to apply and the energy that builds up where it is needed. One feature that is particularly worth emphasising is the agile shovel response. This means that as soon as you initiate a turn, you can control the ski in a measured and easy way. In other words, just think about changing direction - and it happens. This construction also allows for less weight without sacrificing stability.
The Völkl Secret 88 with tip and tail rocker also features a proven multi-layer wood core surrounded by a continuous sidewall and a P-Tex 2100 base.
